Atomic Time Torture
installation, 2020

WRO Art Center / May 12-30

A water dropper suspended over the face-cutout of a massage bed and a bucket for the spilled water underneath. Falling droplets triggered via seemingly outdated long-wave transmission of a time signal from the radio clock DCF77 near Frankfurt. A tangible reflexion on the notorious ‘Doomsday Clock’, a clock tending to advance to the global apocalyptical midnight but being prevented to do so only by applying extraordinary reverse forces. Still, the seconds of this clock are continuously ticking, even if the minute hand is forcefully kept back. The visitors are invited to lay themselves on the massage table, facing upwards. their forehead exposed to the dropping water.
