Pawns of Furthest East

In a near future, humans are owned by their technological devices and their physical bodies become human identity stunts for them. The everyday life is completely gamified and citizens are pawns that must play their days in order to survive, it is their job. Furthest East is an out of bounds located in the Uncanny Free Trade Zone, a restricted access cyber-area where hybridization between man and machine is explored and tested. Furthest East is a State of Exception, where humans still holds their lives, free from serving devices. However they lost their bodies, they can only be free in cyber-space. This is the story of Mex and Madda. They will try to meet in Furthest East.

Matteo Messina (IT)

Matteo Messina (born in Genova) lives and works in London. His research is focused on the relationship between gamification and surveillance, as well as, their impact on social structures and citizenship models.
